Everything is changing rapidly right now, and who knows what will last?
But at the moment, LinkedIn is feeding search results more reliably than almost anything else.
You can spend a king's ransom on SEO for your website and, in most cases, receive NOTHING in return.
Why?
Most searches actually start with a question.
How do you start searching or researching something? Think about it.
For the 2 Emoji newsletters I just finished, 7 of the 12 resources I used to write them were LinkedIn posts.
Search is serving up answers to questions from LinkedIn.
Reddit is another big source. Are you on Reddit?
Where did your latest answers come from?
LinkedIn is now a top source for AI-generated answers across tools like ChatGPT, Google AI, and Perplexity.
Your LinkedIn content is no longer just for humans… In many cases, it’s the #1 source for professional queries.
What does this mean for Soloprenuers and small firms?
It means, you don't have to be a global brand to compete. You can outrank the bigger players simply by showing up consistently.
Your Profile, every post, article, and newsletter can be a"Search Asset."
I am giddy just thinking about the power of that!
One of my posts came up in a recent search.
What do the AI systems favor?
▶️ Clear, clean expertise
▶️ Real-world Insights
▶️ First-person Perspectives
Decision-makers are increasingly using AI to begin their search for service providers.
Before contacting a service provider, they are 82% of the way finished with their search.
So, 82% of their search is blind to you. You may be 1 of the 2 - 3 providers they've narrowed the search down to.
Your first contact with a prospect may be their deciding factor.
"SEMRush conducted an analysis of 325,000 unique prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity between January and February 2026. SEMrush said its prompt sample “spanned topics across 12 major industry categories,” and, based on that analysis, LinkedIn was the second-most-cited source for AI answers, slightly behind Reddit. (Graph results below)"
What do I recommend?
✅ Shorter posts that answer the questions your clients have.
✅ Post more than once a week and consistently. No fluff.
✅ Double down on POV, not just helpful tips. Think opinion, frameworks, perspective, and real-life examples in story form.
The real mindset shift is this - you are no longer posting solely for engagement. But don't quit doing that, also.
Post more like a Thought Leader and build your Digital Authority.
Post like you want to be the go-to answer.
Be the Treasure Chest of answers your Ideal Clients are looking for.
